Description

Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese Wraps combine tender shredded pulled pork with creamy macaroni and cheese, layered with tangy barbecue sauce and melted cheddar, all wrapped in a crispy tortilla. This quick and satisfying wrap is perfect for a hearty lunch or dinner, offering a comforting fusion of smoky, cheesy, and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Wraps

  • 2 burrito-sized tortillas

Fillings

  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 ounces plain pulled pork, cooked and shredded
  • 1/2 cup cooked macaroni and cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded triple cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tortilla: Place the tortilla on a plate or cutting board and carefully cut a slit from the outer edge toward the center, stopping at the midpoint without cutting through.
  2. Apply barbecue sauce (bottom left): Spread 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce in the bottom left corner of the tortilla to add a smoky tangy base for the filling.
  3. Apply barbecue sauce and pork (top left): Spread another tablespoon of barbecue sauce in the top left corner, then top it with 2 ounces of the shredded pulled pork for savory richness.
  4. Add macaroni and cheese (top right): Place 1/4 cup of cooked macaroni and cheese into the top right corner, adding a creamy cheesy texture.
  5. Add shredded cheese (bottom right): Sprinkle half of the shredded triple cheddar cheese into the bottom right corner for extra cheesiness and melting.
  6. Fold the tortilla: Starting from the bottom left corner, fold the tortilla clockwise over the fillings into a neat wrap. Repeat these filling steps for the second tortilla.
  7. Cook the wraps: Heat a panini press or a buttered hot skillet and cook each wrap until golden brown and crispy on both sides, ensuring the cheese melts and the wrap holds together, about 3 to 5 minutes total.
  8. Serve: Slice each wrap in half diagonally and serve immediately while hot and melty.

Notes

  • Use a panini press or skillet with a bit of butter or oil to get the wraps crispy and golden.
  • Ensure the pulled pork is well-cooked and shredded for easy layering.
  • Adjust the amount of barbecue sauce to your taste preference for more or less tanginess.
  • These wraps are best served immediately to maintain crispiness.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet to regain crispiness but may soften in the microwave.
