Description
A delightfully crispy, cheesy twist on classic pizza, this Puff Pastry Pizza layers flaky golden pastry with sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings for a quick, wow-worthy dinner or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/3 cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/3 cup pepperoni or other toppings (mushrooms, peppers, olives, etc.)
- Fresh basil leaves, torn
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold thawed puff pastry onto the prepared sheet. Smooth out any creases and score a 1/2-inch border around the edge without cutting through.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce within the scored border.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Add desired toppings, keeping them evenly spaced and not too heavy.
- Brush exposed pastry edges with olive oil.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the pastry is golden and puffed, and cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Scatter torn fresh basil on top. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For added flavor, drizzle with chili-infused honey or sprinkle with grated Parmesan just before serving.
- Use well-drained toppings to prevent sogginess.
- For a crowd, cut into small squares for appetizers or use mini pastry squares for personal pizzas.
