- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tbsp honey
Optional Icing
- Protein powder
- Milk (quantity as needed to drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent the rolls from sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the oat flour, protein powder, baking powder, and cinnamon evenly.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the unsweetened applesauce and honey until well blended.
- Form the Dough: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms and all ingredients are incorporated evenly.
- Roll and Slice: Lightly flour a clean surface with oat flour, roll the dough into a log shape, then carefully slice it into 8 even rolls.
- Bake: Place the cinnamon rolls into the prepared baking dish and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the rolls turn golden brown.
- Optional Icing: Mix protein powder with enough milk to create a drizzle-able icing and drizzle over the warm rolls for an extra sweet finish.
- Serve: Serve the protein cinnamon rolls warm and enjoy their soft, flavorful taste.
Notes
- You can substitute the oat flour with a gluten-free flour blend if desired.
- Adjust the cinnamon quantity to fit your taste preference.
- For a dairy-free icing, use plant-based milk alternatives.
- These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored airtight for up to 2 days.
- Reheat gently before serving to restore softness.
