Ingredients
Pretzel Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Brownie Layer:
- 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the box—usually eggs, oil, and water)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare Pretzel Crust: In a medium bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and brown sugar. Press the mixture into the pan and bake for 8 minutes.
- Prepare Brownie Batter: Mix the brownie batter and pour half over the pretzel crust. Drizzle caramel sauce, swirl gently, then pour the remaining batter.
- Add Toppings: Drizzle more caramel, sprinkle sea salt, and add pecans/chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool before slicing.
