Description

A sweet, buttery, and nutty snack made with Crispix cereal and salted pecans, coated in a luscious caramel glaze for an irresistibly crunchy treat.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups salted pecan halves
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F. Line a large surface with parchment or wax paper for cooling later.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
  3. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will foam up slightly.
  5. Pour the hot caramel over the cereal and pecans. Gently toss with a spatula to coat evenly.
  6. Spread the coated mixture into a 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
  7. Pour mixture onto the prepared parchment or wax paper. Let cool completely, then break into clusters.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice for a cozy flavor variation.
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate after cooling for an indulgent twist.
  • Sprinkle sea salt over the mixture before cooling for a sweet-salty contrast.
