Description

These Pepper Jelly & Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Squares are a delightful combination of sweet, spicy pepper jelly, creamy cream cheese, and flaky puff pastry. They make for a perfect appetizer or snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Puff Pastry Squares:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • flour for dusting

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

Pepper Jelly Topping:

  • 1/2 cup pepper jelly (red or green)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare puff pastry: Lightly flour work surface and roll out the puff pastry into a 10×10-inch square. Cut into 16 squares and place on baking sheet.
  3. Make cream cheese filling: In a bowl, stir cream cheese until smooth. Place about 1 teaspoon in the center of each pastry square.
  4. Add pepper jelly: Top the cream cheese with 1 teaspoon of pepper jelly.
  5. Brush with egg wash: Brush the edges of the squares with beaten egg.
  6. Bake: Bake for 14–16 minutes until golden. Let cool, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

  • These make a great party appetizer or holiday snack.
  • You can substitute pepper jelly with fig jam or apricot preserves for a sweeter version.
