Description

A rich and creamy no-bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Mud Pie featuring a chocolate cookie crust, smooth peanut butter cream cheese filling, and a luscious chocolate ganache topping. Perfectly chilled and garnished with whipped topping, chopped peanuts, and chocolate shavings, this decadent dessert combines the irresistible flavors of peanut butter and chocolate in an easy-to-make pie.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs (such as Oreos, finely crushed)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed (divided)

Ganache

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup heavy cream

Garnish (optional)

  • ¼ cup chopped peanuts
  • Chocolate shavings or drizzle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Freeze for 10–15 minutes to set.
  2. Make the peanut butter filling: In a large bowl, beat the peanut butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Fold in half of the whipped topping until fully incorporated.
  3. Assemble filling: Spread the peanut butter filling evenly over the chilled crust.
  4. Make the chocolate ganache: In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the semi-sweet chocolate chips and let sit for 1 minute, then stir the mixture until smooth and glossy. Allow the ganache to cool slightly.
  5. Add ganache layer: Pour the cooled ganache over the peanut butter layer in the pie dish.
  6. Chill the pie: Refrigerate the assembled pie for at least 4 hours, or until set and firm.
  7. Final touches and serving: Before serving, spread the remaining whipped topping evenly over the top of the pie. Garnish with chopped peanuts and chocolate shavings or drizzle, if desired.

Notes

  • For a crunchier base, add a tablespoon of sugar to the crust mixture before pressing it into the pie dish.
  • You can substitute almond butter or cookie butter in place of peanut butter for a different flavor profile.
  • This pie is best served chilled but softens beautifully at room temperature, making it flexible for serving.
