Description

Learn how to make delicious Peach Butter at home with this easy recipe. This sweet and fragrant fruit spread is perfect for toast, biscuits, pancakes, or even as a yogurt mix-in.

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs ripe peaches (peeled, pitted, and chopped)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped peaches in a large saucepan or slow cooker. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  2. Cook over low heat (or on the low setting in a slow cooker) for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the peaches have broken down and the mixture thickens.
  3. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth, or transfer to a blender in batches.
  4. Continue cooking uncovered for another 30 to 60 minutes, stirring frequently, until the peach butter reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Once thick and spreadable, remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer to clean jars and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, peel the peaches before cooking.
  • You can adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of your fruit.
  • Great as a spread on toast, biscuits, pancakes, or stirred into yogurt.
