Description

These Parmesan Garlic Pizza Rolls are a delicious and easy appetizer featuring gooey mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, seasoned with garlic and Italian herbs, all wrapped in soft pizza dough. Perfect for parties or quick snacks, they bake to golden, bubbly perfection and can be customized with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle approximately 10 by 14 inches, ensuring an even thickness.
  3. Add Sauce and Seasonings: Evenly spread ½ cup of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning evenly over the sauce.
  4. Roll and Slice: Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled log into 10 to 12 equal pieces.
  5. Arrange in Baking Dish: Place the slices cut side up in the prepared baking dish, arranging them close but not touching.
  6. Brush with Butter: Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter to help them brown beautifully during baking.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Cool and Garnish: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for 5 minutes. Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Add your favorite toppings like mini pepperoni, chopped olives, or cooked sausage inside the roll before baking for extra flavor.
  • Serve these rolls warm with extra marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
  • For a crispier crust, brush the baking dish edges with a little olive oil before placing the rolls.
  • Make sure to let the rolls cool slightly to avoid burns from hot cheese.
