Description

Crispy and flavorful Oven Baked Harra Fries seasoned with a bold blend of spices including garlic, paprika, cayenne, and coriander, finished with fresh lemon juice, garlic sauce, and parsley for a delicious twist on classic fries. Perfect for a spicy snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Fries

  • 1 bag (24 oz) frozen thick-cut fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/3 cup garlic sauce (Lebanese toum)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and place a baking sheet inside to heat up while you prepare the fries. Heating the baking sheet helps the fries cook evenly and get crispy.
  2. Season the Fries. In a large bowl, toss the frozen fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, ground coriander, and salt. Make sure the fries are evenly coated in the spice mixture for maximum flavor.
  3. Prepare the Baking Sheet. Carefully remove the hot baking sheet from the oven and line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  4. Bake the Fries. Spread the seasoned fries out in a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping them halfway through to promote even browning and crispiness on all sides.
  5. Toss with Lemon Juice. After removing the fries from the oven, immediately transfer them to a bowl and toss with fresh lemon juice to add a bright and tangy flavor.
  6. Add Garlic Sauce and Parsley. Drizzle the garlic sauce (Lebanese toum) generously over the fries and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for an herby finish.
  7. Serve. Serve the Harra Fries hot for the best taste and texture and enjoy your spicy, crispy, and flavorful snack.

Notes

  • Make sure to spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet to ensure they bake evenly and get crispy.
  • Tossing with lemon juice right after baking brightens the flavors and balances the spices.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper quantity according to your preferred heat level.
  • Using fresh parsley adds a fresh herbal note but can be substituted with cilantro if preferred.
  • Serve with extra garlic sauce on the side for dipping if desired.
