Description

This Oreo Layered Dessert, also known as Oreo Delight with Chocolate Pudding, is a luscious no-bake treat featuring a crunchy Oreo crust, creamy cream cheese layer, rich chocolate pudding, and topped with whipped cream and Oreo crumbs. Perfect for parties or a quick sweet indulgence, this easy-to-make dessert combines textures and flavors that Oreo lovers will adore.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tub (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed and divided (1 1/2 cups for cream cheese layer, remaining for topping)

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups cold milk

Garnish

  • 1/2 cup reserved crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo crust: Crush the Oreo cookies using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. Set aside 1/2 cup of the crushed Oreos for the topping. Mix the remaining crushed Oreos with melted butter until well combined, then press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form the crust.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups of the thawed whipped topping until well incorporated. Spread this creamy mixture evenly over the prepared Oreo crust.
  3. Prepare the chocolate pudding layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together the two packages of instant chocolate pudding mix with 2 3/4 cups of cold milk until the pudding thickens. Once thickened, spread the chocolate pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Add the topping: Spread the remaining whipped topping over the chocolate pudding layer to create a smooth, even surface.
  5. Garnish: Sprinkle the reserved 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies and, if desired, mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings over the top of the dessert.
  6. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours or until fully set. Once chilled, slice into squares and serve cold for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and whipped topping to achieve a rich and creamy texture.
  • You can prepare the dessert a day ahead; just keep it tightly covered in the refrigerator.
  • Optional: Add mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings for a more decadent garnish.
  • This dessert is best served cold and tastes great when allowed to set for longer than 2 hours.
  • Crushing the Oreos finely will make the crust hold together better.
