Ingredients
Cookie Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
 - 1 cup brown sugar, packed
 - 2 large eggs
 - 1/4 cup orange juice
 - 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
 - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
 - 1/4 teaspoon allspice
 
Mix-Ins:
- 1 1/2 cups chopped mixed candied fruit
 - 1 cup chopped dates
 - 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
 
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
 - Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
 - Add Eggs and Juice: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the orange juice.
 - Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
 - Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the candied fruit, dates, and nuts.
 - Bake: Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
 - Cool and Enjoy: Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
