Description

Delight in these No-Bake Orange Creamsicle Truffles, a luscious and creamy treat that combines the zesty brightness of orange with the smooth sweetness of vanilla and white chocolate. Perfect as an easy, make-ahead dessert or a crowd-pleasing party favor, these truffles require no oven and come together quickly for a refreshing citrus twist on classic cream cheese truffles.

Ingredients

Truffle Mixture

  • 1 (14-ounce) package vanilla wafer cookies
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, divided

Coating and Garnish

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, melted
  • Orange sanding sugar or sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cookie Crumbs: In a food processor, pulse the vanilla wafers into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Make the Truffle Dough: Add the softened cream cheese, unsalted butter, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, salt, and 1 cup of the powdered sugar to the cookie crumbs. Mix thoroughly until a smooth, soft dough forms. If the mixture feels too sticky, gradually add the remaining powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until it’s manageable by hand.
  3. Shape and Chill: Roll the dough into approximately 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze the truffles for 20 to 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt the White Chocolate: While the truffles chill, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth.
  5. Coat Truffles in Chocolate: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place them back onto the parchment-lined sheet. If desired, sprinkle with orange sanding sugar or decorative sprinkles.
  6. Set and Store: Refrigerate the coated truffles until the chocolate has fully set. Store truffles in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze them for up to 1 month.

Notes

  • Store truffles in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
  • For a stronger orange flavor, add a drop of orange extract to the mixture or the white chocolate coating before melting.
  • Ensure cream cheese and butter are softened for easier mixing and a smoother dough.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking during chilling and coating.
  • If the white chocolate hardens too much while dipping, gently reheat it to maintain a smooth consistency.
