Description

Indulge in the sweet, buttery goodness of these New Orleans Pecan Pralines. A classic Southern treat that’s perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
  2. Cook Praline Mixture: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, butter, and salt. Cook until boiling, then attach a candy thermometer and cook to 238°F (soft-ball stage).
  3. Add Flavorings: Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and pecans. Mix until thickened and creamy.
  4. Form Pralines: Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Let cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Notes:

  • Work quickly once the mixture is ready, as it sets fast.
  • For softer pralines, reduce the cooking temperature slightly.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
