Description

These New Orleans Chicken Wings are packed with flavor and easy to make. The perfect balance of spices, a hint of sweetness, and a touch of heat make these wings a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

For the Sauce and Garnish:

  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Chicken Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, cayenne pepper, oregano, and white pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Bake the Wings: Arrange wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together hot sauce, melted butter, and honey.
  5. Toss the Wings: Remove wings from the oven and toss immediately in the sauce until well coated.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, broil them for 2 to 3 minutes after baking.
  • Adjust the spice level by using more or less cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
  • These wings can also be made in the air fryer at 375°F for about 25 minutes, shaking halfway.
