how to make mushroom gravy for chapathi
- Wash and chop the mushrooms (some times i will remove the lower part of mushrooms,if you want you can remove the lower part or you can prepare mushroom sabzi along with them).
- Chop the onions into medium size pieces.
- Heat a mini pressure cooker or kadai, add ghee or butter.
- after ghee or butter melts, then add mushrooms and cashew nuts.
- fry them until you get little golden color.
- Now remove them to a plate and keep aside.
- in a mixy jar or blender add onions, cashew nuts, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, poppy seeds, shahjeera, ginger, garlic & make them into fine paste by adding small amount of water.
- make sure the gravy should be fine paste without any masala particles.
- Now in the same kadai / pressure cooker add butter
- after butter melts add cinnamon stick, cloves & fry for few seconds.
- Now add above gravy, turmeric powder, salt, chilly powder and fry until it oozes out oil from its surrounding.
- Now add fried mushrooms and cashews and fry for 1 min.
- Add water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Now rich and delicious mushroom curry is ready to enjoy with poori or rice or naan or chapati or roti.

- Chilly powder – 1 ½ tbsp
- Ginger and garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Onions – 2- 3 medium
- Cashew nuts – 20 (some for gravy and some for curry)
- Cloves – 4
- Cardamom – 2 pods
- Cinnamon stick – 2 inches
- Shahjeera – ½ tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Coriander seeds – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4th tbsp
- Poppy seeds – ½ tbsp
- Salt – 1 ½ tbsp (as per your taste)
- Butter or ghee – 4 tbsp
- Water – 1/4th glass (in pressure cooker) or more than ½ glass (in kadai)
