Description

Indulge in the refreshing sweetness of this homemade Mountain Dew ice cream without the need for a churn. Creamy and citrusy, it’s a delightful frozen treat perfect for cooling off on a hot day.

Ingredients

For the Ice Cream:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ¾ cup Mountain Dew (regular, not diet)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon or lime zest (optional for brightness)
  • green food coloring (optional for color)

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, Mountain Dew, and lemon or lime zest (if using).
  3. Combine: Gently fold the whipped cream into the Mountain Dew mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the mixture. Add green food coloring if desired and fold again.
  4. Freeze: Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe loaf pan or container, smooth the top, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until firm.
  5. Serve: Scoop and enjoy the cold, refreshing ice cream.

Notes

  • For extra fun, top with crushed citrus candy, whipped cream, or a drizzle of lemon-lime syrup.
  • You can substitute with other citrus sodas for different flavors.
