Description
A delicious and savory side dish, Miso Garlic Butter Rice combines the umami flavors of miso with the richness of garlic butter, creating a flavorful and comforting dish that pairs well with a variety of main courses.
Ingredients
For the Miso Garlic Butter:
- 2 tablespoons miso paste
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
For the Rice:
- 2 cups jasmine rice
- 3 1/2 cups water
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Miso Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the miso paste, softened butter, and minced garlic until well combined. Set aside.
- Cook the Rice: Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a rice cooker or pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, and a pinch of salt. Cook the rice according to your rice cooker’s instructions or bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes.
- Combine: Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and gently fold in the prepared miso garlic butter until the butter is melted and evenly distributed throughout the rice.
- Serve: Transfer the Miso Garlic Butter Rice to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the amount of miso paste and garlic according to your taste preferences.
- For added richness, you can sprinkle some furikake (Japanese rice seasoning) on top before serving.
