Description

This refreshing Mint-To-Be Protein Shake blends the fresh flavor of mint extract with creamy yogurt and vanilla protein powder for a satisfying, nutrient-rich treat. Prepared with a Ninja Creami, this frozen shake combines smooth gelatin-infused milk, maple syrup, and a hint of green coloring for a festive touch. Perfect for a post-workout boost or a delicious snack, topped optionally with whipped cream and sprinkles.

Ingredients

Liquid Ingredients

  • 240 ml (1 cup) 2% milk, divided + more for blending
  • 35 ml (2 tbsp) maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp mint extract (not peppermint)

Dairy & Protein

  • 113 g (½ cup) full-fat plain skyr or Greek yogurt
  • 34 g (1 scoop) vanilla protein powder

Other Ingredients

  • 6 g gelatin
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Warm the Milk and Dissolve Gelatin: In a small saucepan, gently warm half of the 2% milk over low heat. Whisk in the gelatin until it is fully dissolved, ensuring no lumps remain.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Pour the gelatin mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container. Add the remaining milk, maple syrup, full-fat plain skyr or Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, mint extract, kosher salt, and green food coloring if using.
  3. Blend Mixture: Blend all the ingredients together until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible particles.
  4. Freeze: Place the pint container in the freezer and freeze the mixture for 24 hours to ensure it solidifies properly.
  5. Process in Ninja Creami: After freezing, process the pint using the “Lite Ice Cream” function on the Ninja Creami machine to achieve a creamy texture.
  6. Adjust Texture if Needed: If the shake is crumbly, add a small splash of milk to the pint and re-spin on the Creami until smooth and creamy.
  7. Serve: Top with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired, then serve immediately for a refreshing protein-rich treat.

Notes

  • Use mint extract, not peppermint, to avoid overpowering or medicinal flavors.
  • Green food coloring is optional but adds a festive, vibrant look to the shake.
  • Full-fat skyr or Greek yogurt provides creaminess and protein; substitute with a similar yogurt if unavailable.
  • Ensure gelatin is fully dissolved in warm milk to avoid grainy texture.
  • Freezing for a full 24 hours ensures the mixture is firm enough to process well in the Ninja Creami.
  • Adjust texture with milk after processing to reach your preferred creaminess.
