Description

A refreshing and creamy Mint-To-Be Protein Shake made with gelatin, Greek yogurt, and vanilla protein powder, blended and frozen using the Ninja Creami for a smooth, dessert-like treat packed with protein and subtle mint flavor.

Ingredients

Shake Ingredients

  • 240 ml (1 cup) 2% milk, divided, plus more for blending
  • 6 g gelatin
  • 35 ml (2 tbsp) maple syrup
  • 113 g (½ cup) full-fat plain skyr or Greek yogurt
  • 34 g (1 scoop) vanilla protein powder
  • ¼ tsp mint extract (not peppermint)
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Warm Milk and Dissolve Gelatin: In a small saucepan, gently warm half of the 2% milk over low heat. Whisk in the gelatin until it is fully dissolved, ensuring the mixture is smooth with no lumps.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Pour the warm gelatin mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Add the remaining milk, maple syrup, plain skyr or Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, mint extract, a pinch of kosher salt, and green food coloring if using.
  3. Blend Smoothly: Blend the combined mixture until it is completely smooth and uniform in texture, making sure all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. Freeze: Place the pint container into the freezer and freeze for 24 hours until fully solidified.
  5. Process in Ninja Creami: After freezing, use the Ninja Creami appliance and select the “Lite Ice Cream” function to process the frozen mixture into a creamy shake consistency.
  6. Adjust Texture if Needed: If the shake texture is crumbly, add a small splash of milk and re-spin in the Ninja Creami until the shake is smooth and creamy.
  7. Add Toppings and Serve: Top the protein shake with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired, and serve immediately for the best texture and freshness.

Notes

  • Use mint extract (not peppermint) to achieve a subtle mint flavor without overpowering the shake.
  • Green food coloring is optional and only for visual effect.
  • For best results, ensure the mixture is frozen completely for the full 24 hours before processing.
  • If you don’t have a Ninja Creami, this recipe might not work as intended since the appliance creates the unique creamy texture.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup according to taste.
