Ingredients
For the Cookies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1–2 drops green food coloring (optional)
For Rolling:
- 1 cup powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Extracts and Coloring: Mix in peppermint and vanilla extracts, and add green food coloring if desired.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until combined. Stir in the mini chocolate chips.
- Form Dough Balls: Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls. Place on the baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool for 5 minutes.
- Roll in Sugar: Roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar. Cool completely, then roll in powdered sugar again for a snowy finish.
Notes

- If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, add an extra 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
