Ingredients
Cake:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- butter and cocoa powder for greasing molds
Serving:
- optional powdered sugar or whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease mini bundt pans with butter and cocoa powder.
- Melt chocolate and butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate and butter in 30-second intervals until smooth.
- Whisk eggs and sugar: In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, sugar, salt, and vanilla until pale.
- Combine mixtures: Fold melted chocolate into the egg mixture. Stir in flour until just combined.
- Fill molds and bake: Divide batter among prepared molds. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool and serve: Let cakes cool for a few minutes, then invert onto plates. Serve warm with powdered sugar or whipped cream.
Notes
- For a molten center, slightly underbake and rest before serving.
