Description

Million Dollar Spaghetti Alfredo is a decadent fusion casserole combining a rich homemade meat marinara sauce with a creamy, cheesy Alfredo sauce layered over perfectly cooked spaghetti noodles. Topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and baked until bubbly, this comforting dish serves eight and is perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Meat Sauce

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce

Alfredo Sauce

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Pasta and Toppings

  • 16 ounces (1 pound) spaghetti noodles, cooked to al dente
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion, green bell pepper, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning until the meat is browned and the vegetables have softened, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess grease, then stir in the marinara sauce. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to blend the flavors.
  2. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce: In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the shredded Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Season with kosher salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Combine Spaghetti with Alfredo Sauce: Add the cooked and drained spaghetti noodles into the Alfredo sauce pot. Toss the noodles thoroughly to ensure they are evenly coated with the rich, creamy sauce.
  4. Assemble the Casserole: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking. Spread the Alfredo-coated spaghetti evenly in the prepared dish. Then pour the meat marinara sauce evenly over the spaghetti layer. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and additional Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 15 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and garnish with dried parsley flakes if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Cooking the meat sauce ahead of time can save preparation time on serving day.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and smoother sauce.
  • Ensure spaghetti is cooked al dente to retain its texture through baking.
  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the meat sauce during simmering.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to maintain creaminess.
