Description

These Middle Eastern Kofta Kebabs with Salad and Flatbread are a delicious and satisfying meal that combines flavorful spiced kebabs with a refreshing salad and warm flatbreads. Perfect for a casual dinner or weekend barbecue.


Ingredients

Kofta Kebabs:

  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb (or a mix)
  • 1 small onion finely grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing

Salad:

  • 2 cups mixed salad greens
  • 1 cup cucumber diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Flatbreads and Serving:

  • 4 flatbreads such as pita or naan
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or tzatziki for serving

Instructions

  1. Kofta Kebabs: In a large bowl, combine ground meat, grated onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Shape onto skewers and refrigerate. Grill for 3–4 minutes per side.
  2. Salad: Toss salad greens, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and red onion with lemon juice, olive oil, and salt.
  3. Flatbreads: Warm in a skillet or oven.
  4. Serve: Place kofta kebabs on a platter with salad, warm flatbreads, and Greek yogurt or tzatziki.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the kofta mixture before cooking.
  • You can also bake the koftas in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes.
