Ingredients
Cheese Dip:
- 1 pound white American cheese (cubed or shredded)
- 1/4 cup whole milk (more as needed)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 (4-ounce) can diced green chilies (undrained)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1–2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño juice (optional, for spice and tang)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Cheese Dip: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white American cheese, milk, and heavy cream. Stir frequently until the cheese is completely melted and smooth.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in the green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, and jalapeño juice if using. Continue to cook, stirring often, until the dip is heated through and fully blended.
- Adjust Consistency: Add more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, if needed to reach desired consistency. Taste and add salt if necessary.
- Serve: Warm with tortilla chips, or drizzle over nachos, tacos, or burritos.
Notes
- White American cheese is essential for the smooth, creamy texture—look for it at the deli counter.
- Add a pinch of cumin or chili powder for a deeper flavor.
- Keep warm in a slow cooker or over very low heat if serving for a party.
