Description

These Melty Mac & Cheese Burger Tacos combine creamy, cheesy macaroni with savory seasoned ground beef, all wrapped in toasted flour tortillas. A perfect comfort food mashup that’s easy to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1½ cups prepared macaroni and cheese
  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for toasting)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Diced pickles
  • Chopped lettuce
  • Ketchup and mustard for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed. Stir in ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to let the flavors combine, then remove from heat.
  2. Prepare the tortillas and assemble: Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable. Spread a spoonful of mac and cheese in the center of each tortilla, then top with a scoop of seasoned ground beef and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Form the tacos: Fold the tortillas in half to form taco shapes.
  4. Toast the tacos: In a large skillet or griddle, melt butter or heat oil over medium heat. Place the tacos seam-side down and toast for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melty.
  5. Add toppings and serve: Remove from heat and top with diced pickles and chopped lettuce. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use leftover or boxed mac and cheese to keep it simple.
  • For an extra crispy finish, press the tacos slightly while toasting.
  • These can also be baked at 400°F for 8–10 minutes if preferred.
