Description

Maryland Crab Dip Pretzel is a delicious seafood appetizer featuring a soft pretzel topped with a creamy blend of lump crab meat, cream cheese, cheddar, and flavorful seasonings. Baked to bubbly perfection, this cheesy crab dip served on warm pretzels makes an irresistible game-day snack or party favorite.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large soft pretzel (or 46 small soft pretzels)
  • 8 oz lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (plus more for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 375°F to prepare it for baking the crab dip pretzels.
  2. Mix the Base: In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth and well blended.
  3. Add Crab and Cheese: Gently fold in the lump crab meat, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and chopped parsley, taking care not to overly break up the crab pieces.
  4. Prepare Pretzels: Place your soft pretzel(s) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to avoid sticking and allow even baking.
  5. Top Pretzels with Dip: Spoon generous portions of the crab dip over each pretzel, spreading the mixture evenly to cover the surface.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the crab dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese has melted nicely.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle extra fresh parsley on top for garnish, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For an extra cheesy finish, sprinkle additional cheddar or Parmesan cheese over the crab dip before baking.
  • You can use either store-bought or homemade soft pretzels depending on your preference.
  • This recipe works great as a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a delicious game-day snack.
