Description

Marry Me Chicken features tender chicken in a luscious sun-dried tomato cream sauce infused with Italian herbs, perfect for date night or comfort food cravings.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth (low sodium)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes (oil-packed), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts horizontally to create thin cutlets. Pat dry, season with salt and pepper, and dredge lightly in flour.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and butter. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds, then deglaze with chicken broth, scraping up browned bits.
  4. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return chicken and juices to skillet. Spoon sauce over chicken and simmer for 2–3 minutes until heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot with your favorite side.

Notes

  • Garnish with extra Parmesan or fresh basil for flavor and presentation.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, salad, or roasted vegetables.
  • Use as a topping for garlic toast, creamy polenta, or serve family-style.
  • Refrigerate leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze cooled chicken and sauce in freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat gently in a covered skillet with a splash of cream or broth.
  • Substitute chicken thighs or make dairy-free with coconut milk and plant-based cheese.
  • Roasted red peppers or cherry tomatoes can replace sun-dried tomatoes.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for desired spice level.
