Description

Learn how to make delicious marinated tofu that is crispy on the outside and full of flavor. This vegan dish is perfect for a quick and easy meal.


Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes or sriracha (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for crisping, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking, optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare Tofu: Press tofu to remove moisture, then cut into cubes or slices.
  2. Marinate: Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. Add tofu to marinade, coat well, and refrigerate.
  3. Cook: Heat skillet, add oil, coat tofu in cornstarch (optional), cook tofu until golden and crisp on both sides.
  4. Serve: Enjoy hot over rice, noodles, or veggies.

Notes

  • Tofu can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  • Enhance with green onions, sesame seeds, or extra marinade as a drizzle.
