Ingredients
Blondies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples (such as Granny Smith)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Maple Glaze:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in apples and nuts.
- Bake: Spread batter in pan and bake for 30–35 minutes. Cool in pan.
- Make the glaze: In a saucepan, melt butter and maple syrup. Remove from heat, whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Glaze and serve: Drizzle glaze over cooled blondies, let set before slicing.

- For added texture and flavor, try adding white chocolate chips to the batter.
