Description

Sweet, salty, sticky, and buttery cinnamon rolls featuring smoky bacon and a rich maple cream cheese glaze — a decadent twist on a breakfast classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated cinnamon roll dough or homemade yeast dough
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Unroll the refrigerated dough or roll out homemade dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thick.
  2. Spread melted butter evenly over the dough surface.
  3. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  4. Sprinkle the crumbled crispy bacon over the cinnamon-sugar layer.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and cut into even pieces using a serrated knife.
  6. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
  7. (If using homemade dough) Cover with a towel and let rise for 30-45 minutes in a warm spot.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
  9. While baking, whisk together cream cheese, maple syrup, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and pourable.
  10. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and top with reserved bacon crumbles if desired.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth glaze.
  • Don’t overfill the dough to avoid leaking while baking.
  • Line the baking dish with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  • Ensure bacon is fully crispy for best texture contrast.
