Description
This creamy Macadamia Nut Fudge is a rich and decadent treat made with high-quality semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and crunchy chopped macadamia nuts. Perfectly smooth with a delightful nutty texture, this fudge is easy to prepare on the stovetop and chilled until firm, making it a great homemade gift or indulgent dessert.
Ingredients
Fudge Ingredients
- 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips (18 ounces), preferably high quality like Ghirardelli or Guittard
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (such as Eagle Brand)
- Pinch of salt
- 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8-inch square pan with regular foil and coat it with nonstick cooking spray to ensure the fudge does not stick. Set aside while you prepare the fudge mixture.
- Cook the Fudge Mixture: In a large heavy saucepan, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and a pinch of salt. Cook and stir over low heat, gently melting the chocolate chips until they are mostly melted. Add the vanilla extract and stir vigorously until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform. Remove the pan from heat.
- Add Nuts and Chill: Stir in the chopped macadamia nuts until evenly distributed throughout the fudge mixture. Pour the thick fudge into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with the back of a spoon or rubber spatula. It will have some texture, but aim for an even surface. Place the fudge in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Cut and Serve: Once firm, use the foil edges to lift the fudge out of the pan. Gently peel off the foil and cut the fudge into 1-inch squares. Serve and enjoy this rich, nutty treat.
Notes
- Use good quality chocolate chips for the best taste and smooth texture.
- Chilling time is important to allow the fudge to set properly; do not rush this step.
- Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- For a different nutty flavor, walnuts or pecans can be substituted for macadamia nuts.
- Ensure to stir constantly on low heat to prevent burning the chocolate.
