Description

A flavorful and aromatic loaded bread dipping oil that combines the richness of extra virgin olive oil with herbs, Parmesan cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes for a delightful appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

Base:

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Seasonings:

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Additional Flavors:

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped sun-dried tomatoes (in oil)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • optional: a pinch of lemon zest or a splash of lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Combine Base Ingredients: In a small bowl or shallow dish, mix olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  2. Add Seasonings: Stir in garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Include Additional Flavors: Add Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and parsley. Stir well to combine.
  4. Infuse Flavors: Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes to meld flavors. Optionally, add lemon zest or juice for brightness.
  5. Serve: Accompany with warm crusty bread for dipping.
