Description

These Lemon Pepper Wings are perfectly baked to crispy golden perfection, coated with a zesty lemon butter sauce that infuses a bright citrus flavor with a kick of pepper. Ideal as a flavorful appetizer or game day snack, this easy recipe combines simple seasonings and a quick baking method for delicious wings with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split at joints and tips removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1½ teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Lemon Butter Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Wings: Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Season the Wings: Place the wings in a large bowl. Toss with olive oil, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until each wing is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  4. Bake the Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to promote even browning. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.
  5. Prepare Lemon Butter Sauce: While the wings bake, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, mixing well to combine the flavors.
  6. Toss Wings in Sauce and Serve: Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the lemon butter sauce over the wings and toss thoroughly to coat them evenly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra-crispy wings, place wings on a wire rack set on top of the baking sheet instead of directly on the sheet.
  • Air fryer alternative: Cook wings at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
