Description

A zesty and spicy grilled chicken dish marinated with lemon juice and barbecue spices, perfect for summer cookouts.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, barbecue sauce, garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and honey.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and nicely charred.
  5. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more cayenne or a dash of hot sauce to the marinade.
  • This recipe also works well with chicken thighs or wings.
  • Serve with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
