These Korean-style ground turkey bowls are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that’s perfect for a quick dinner. Savory and slightly spicy, this dish is packed with flavor and can be customized with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
For the Ground Turkey:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions (sliced)
For Serving:
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
- 1 cup shredded carrots or steamed vegetables
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Sliced cucumber or kimchi for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Turkey: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground turkey in sesame oil until browned. Add garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, gochujang, ginger, and black pepper. Simmer until sauce thickens.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, stir in green onions. Divide rice into bowls, top with turkey mixture. Add desired toppings and garnish with sesame seeds. Serve with cucumber or kimchi on the side.
Notes
- Adjust spice level with more or less gochujang.
- For a low-carb option, serve over cauliflower rice.
