Description

Enjoy the flavors of Korean cuisine with this quick and easy Korean Ground Beef Bowl recipe. Savory and slightly sweet, this dish is perfect for a simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional for thickening)

Additional Ingredients:

  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat sesame oil. Add ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: Stir in garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, red pepper flakes, and rice vinegar. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to blend flavors.
  3. Thicken the Sauce: For a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Assemble: Serve the beef mixture over warm rice and top with shredded carrots, steamed broccoli, sliced green onions, and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a low-carb version, serve over cauliflower rice.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
