Description

Kool-Aid Pickles, also known as Koolickles, are a vibrant and flavorful snack that combines the tangy crunch of dill pickles with the sweet, fruity zest of Kool-Aid. This easy no-cook recipe infuses classic pickle spears with a colorful, fun twist, perfect for summer gatherings or a unique snack at any time.

Ingredients

Pickle Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz) jar dill pickle spears or whole pickles

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1 packet (0.13 oz) Kool-Aid (cherry, tropical punch, or your favorite flavor)
  • 1/2 to 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pickle Juice: Pour the pickle juice from the jar into a large mixing bowl, removing the pickles from the jar and setting them aside.
  2. Mix Marinade: Stir the Kool-Aid powder and sugar into the pickle juice until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating the sweet and tangy marinade.
  3. Combine Pickles and Marinade: Place the pickles back into the original jar or a new airtight container, then pour the Kool-Aid mixture over the pickles making sure they are fully submerged.
  4. Marinate: Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 5 to 7 days. Shake the jar once a day to ensure the flavors distribute evenly.
  5. Serve: After marinating, serve the Kool-Aid pickles chilled and enjoy the unique blend of flavors.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sugar level to your taste; more sugar for a sweeter pickle, less for tartness.
  • Use your favorite Kool-Aid flavor to customize the taste.
  • Make sure pickles are fully submerged to prevent spoilage.
  • Shake the jar daily to enhance flavor infusion.
  • This recipe requires a long marinating time for best results.
