Ingredients
Cookies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Butter Glaze:
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
- Bake: Scoop dough, roll into balls, flatten slightly, and place on baking sheets. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
- Make Glaze: In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and water. Heat until sugar dissolves, then stir in vanilla.
- Glaze Cookies: While warm, brush cookies with glaze. Let set before serving.
