Description

A succulent and juicy pan-seared ribeye or sirloin steak served with a rich and creamy garlic sauce featuring Parmesan cheese and garlic infusion. This easy-to-make, gluten-free American main course combines savory flavors and simple ingredients for a perfect steak dinner at home.

Ingredients

Steak Ingredients

  • 2 boneless ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Creamy Garlic Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Steaks: Pat steaks dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper to enhance flavor.
  2. Sear Steaks: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. In the last minute of cooking, add 1 tablespoon butter to the pan and baste the steaks with the melted butter for extra richness. Remove steaks from skillet and let rest to retain juices.
  3. Make Garlic Sauce: Lower the skillet heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned to prevent bitterness.
  4. Add Broth and Simmer: Pour in beef broth and scrape the bottom of the pan to lift any flavorful browned bits. Let the broth simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly and concentrate flavors.
  5. Finish Sauce: Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 3–4 minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Serve: Either return the steaks to the skillet briefly to coat with sauce or spoon the sauce generously over the steaks on a serving plate. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired for a fresh touch.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic to achieve the best flavor and aroma in the sauce.
  • Ribeye steaks add extra juiciness due to their marbling, but sirloin or any quality cut can be used.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or pasta for a complete meal.
