Ingredients
Steak Ingredients
- 2 boneless ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Creamy Garlic Sauce Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Steaks: Pat steaks dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper to enhance flavor.
- Sear Steaks: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. In the last minute of cooking, add 1 tablespoon butter to the pan and baste the steaks with the melted butter for extra richness. Remove steaks from skillet and let rest to retain juices.
- Make Garlic Sauce: Lower the skillet heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned to prevent bitterness.
- Add Broth and Simmer: Pour in beef broth and scrape the bottom of the pan to lift any flavorful browned bits. Let the broth simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly and concentrate flavors.
- Finish Sauce: Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 3–4 minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Serve: Either return the steaks to the skillet briefly to coat with sauce or spoon the sauce generously over the steaks on a serving plate. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired for a fresh touch.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic to achieve the best flavor and aroma in the sauce.
- Ribeye steaks add extra juiciness due to their marbling, but sirloin or any quality cut can be used.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or pasta for a complete meal.
