Description
A crispy, golden baked roll stuffed with savory Italian deli meats, gooey cheeses, and herbs, perfect for a quick and hearty weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet store-bought pizza dough
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup sliced salami
- 1/2 cup sliced ham
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (blend of oregano, basil, and thyme)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle.
- Layer pepperoni, salami, and ham evenly across the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the meats, followed by Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a jelly roll. Pinch the seam closed and tuck the ends underneath.
- Place the Stromboli seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg and cut a few diagonal slits on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side.
Notes
- Don’t overfill the Stromboli to prevent it from bursting.
- Ensure seams are sealed well to contain fillings during baking.
- Allow resting before slicing to retain melted cheese inside.
- For best texture, use fresh pizza dough.
