Ingredients
Kunafa Nests:
- 1 cup kunafa dough (kataifi), shredded
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
For Sugar Syrup (if making gulab jamun or refreshing store-bought):
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon rose water or a few saffron strands (optional)
Additional:
- 8 mini gulab jamuns (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
- Edible rose petals for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Kunafa Nests: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Loosen and cut the kunafa dough. Coat with melted butter. Shape into nests in a muffin tin and bake until golden.
- Make Sugar Syrup: Boil sugar and water, then simmer. Add rose water or saffron. Cool.
- Assemble: Place a gulab jamun in each nest, drizzle with syrup, and add pistachios and rose petals. Serve warm.
Notes
- Best served fresh for crisp texture.
- To make ahead, bake nests and assemble just before serving.
