Description

Indulge in the delightful combination of Gulab Jamun and crispy Kunafa in these delectable nests. A fusion dessert that brings together the best of Middle Eastern and South Asian flavors.

Ingredients

Kunafa Nests:

  • 1 cup kunafa dough (kataifi), shredded
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For Sugar Syrup (if making gulab jamun or refreshing store-bought):

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon rose water or a few saffron strands (optional)

Additional:

  • 8 mini gulab jamuns (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
  • Edible rose petals for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Kunafa Nests: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Loosen and cut the kunafa dough. Coat with melted butter. Shape into nests in a muffin tin and bake until golden.
  2. Make Sugar Syrup: Boil sugar and water, then simmer. Add rose water or saffron. Cool.
  3. Assemble: Place a gulab jamun in each nest, drizzle with syrup, and add pistachios and rose petals. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Best served fresh for crisp texture.
  • To make ahead, bake nests and assemble just before serving.
