Ike’s Place Jaymee Sirewich is a deliciously hearty toasted sandwich featuring layers of sliced turkey breast, roast beef, Swiss and provolone cheeses, complemented by fresh tomato, shredded lettuce, and tangy pickled jalapeños, all dressed with a flavorful Ike’s sauce and served on a toasted Dutch crunch or soft sandwich roll.
Ingredients
Bread
- 1 sandwich roll (Dutch crunch or any soft roll)
Meats
- 3 oz turkey breast, sliced
- 3 oz roast beef, sliced
Cheeses
- 2 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 slice provolone cheese
Sauces & Oils
- 2 tbsp Ike’s sauce (or a blend of mayo, mustard, and a dash of hot sauce)
- Olive oil (for toasting)
Vegetables
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
- 1/4 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or sandwich press: Preheat your sandwich press or grill to medium heat to ensure even toasting and melting of the sandwich ingredients.
- Prepare the sandwich roll: Slice the sandwich roll in half horizontally and lightly brush olive oil on the inside surfaces of each half to help achieve a golden, crispy toast.
- Spread the sauce: Evenly spread 2 tablespoons of Ike’s sauce (or a mayo-mustard-hot sauce blend) on the bottom half of the sandwich roll to add moisture and flavor.
- Layer the meats: Arrange 3 ounces of sliced turkey breast and 3 ounces of sliced roast beef on top of the sauced bread, layering them evenly for balanced taste in each bite.
- Add the cheeses: Place 2 slices of Swiss cheese and 1 slice of provolone cheese over the meat layers to contribute a creamy and melty texture.
- Add the fresh toppings: Top the cheese with sliced tomato, shredded lettuce, and 1/4 cup of pickled jalapeños for freshness and a spicy kick.
- Toast the sandwich: Close the sandwich and place it inside the sandwich press or on the grill. Press and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bread is toasted golden brown and the cheese has melted thoroughly.
- Serve: Carefully remove the sandwich from the press, slice it if desired, and serve immediately to enjoy the perfect balance of warm, melty, and fresh flavors.
Notes
- You can substitute the sandwich roll with any soft roll or baguette of your choice.
- If you do not have Ike’s sauce, a homemade blend of mayonnaise, mustard, and a dash of hot sauce works well.
- Adjust pickled jalapeños to your preferred level of spice.
- Serve with chips, fries, or a side salad for a complete meal.
- Use a sandwich press or grill for best toasting and melting results; stovetop pan grilling is an alternative.
