Description

Juicy, pan-seared salmon with a caramelized honey glaze, enhanced with lemon, garlic, and a hint of spice. A quick, flavorful dish that’s perfect for weeknights or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). This will be your glaze.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the salmon fillets skin-side down. Sear for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crisp and golden.
  4. Flip the salmon fillets over and pour the glaze over the top. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, basting with the glaze until the salmon is fully cooked through and the glaze has thickened slightly.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the salmon rest in the glaze for a few moments. Serve with extra glaze drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a small diced chili to the glaze.
  • You can also make this recipe in the oven by baking at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes and broiling for the last minute to caramelize the glaze.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce in place of regular soy sauce.
