Ingredients

Dough:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Additional:

  • 2/3 cup baking soda (for water bath)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse salt for topping


Instructions

  1. Mix the Dough: In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy. Add flour, salt, and melted butter. Mix on low, then knead until smooth.
