Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, or apricots)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds)
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup nut butter (almond or peanut)
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, and dried fruits thoroughly to distribute the ingredients evenly.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the nut butter and honey or maple syrup until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Combine and Coat: Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir thoroughly until all the oat mixture is evenly coated with the nut butter and honey mixture.
- Press into the Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it firmly down with a spatula or grease your hands and press to compact it evenly.
- Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and set.
- Cool and Slice: Remove from the oven and allow the cereal bars to cool completely in the dish before lifting them out using the parchment paper and slicing into 12 squares.
Notes
- For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
- You can customize the cereal bars by adding seeds or other nuts of your choice.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
- Pressing the mixture firmly ensures bars hold together after baking.
