Description

These homemade cereal bars are a wholesome and delicious snack made with rolled oats, nut butter, honey, dried fruits, and chopped nuts. Perfectly baked to a golden finish, they offer a chewy texture combined with natural sweetness and nutty crunch, making them ideal for breakfast on the go or a healthy snack anytime.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, or apricots)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup nut butter (almond or peanut)
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, and dried fruits thoroughly to distribute the ingredients evenly.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the nut butter and honey or maple syrup until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  4. Combine and Coat: Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir thoroughly until all the oat mixture is evenly coated with the nut butter and honey mixture.
  5. Press into the Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it firmly down with a spatula or grease your hands and press to compact it evenly.
  6. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and set.
  7. Cool and Slice: Remove from the oven and allow the cereal bars to cool completely in the dish before lifting them out using the parchment paper and slicing into 12 squares.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • You can customize the cereal bars by adding seeds or other nuts of your choice.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • Pressing the mixture firmly ensures bars hold together after baking.
