Description

These Energy Bites are a nutritious and delicious no-bake snack perfect for a quick energy boost. Made with rolled oats, nut butter, honey, seeds, nuts, dried fruits, and optional superfood powders, they are easy to prepare and customizable to your taste. Ideal for a healthy snack on-the-go or post-workout fuel.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds or flaxseeds
  • 1 tablespoon protein powder or hemp seeds
  • 1-2 teaspoons spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin spice)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or sunflower seed butter)
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1/4 cup mini dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup dried fruits (chopped apricots, cranberries, or raisins)
  • 1/4 cup nuts (chopped almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1 teaspoon superfood powders (matcha, maca, or spirulina)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, stir together the rolled oats, chia seeds or flaxseeds, protein powder or hemp seeds, spices, mini dark chocolate chips, dried fruits, and chopped nuts until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Add the nut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the dry mix. If the nut butter is too thick, warm it slightly to make stirring easier.
  3. Mix Until Combined: Use a spatula or your hands to blend all ingredients evenly. The mixture should be sticky enough to hold its shape but not overly wet.
  4. Form the Bites: Scoop out small portions of the mixture with a spoon and roll them between your palms to create bite-sized balls approximately one inch in diameter, perfect for snacking.
  5. Chill and Set: Place the energy bites on a lined tray and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute nut butter with seed butter to make these nut-free.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup.
  • Store energy bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Optional superfood powders add nutritional benefits and can be tailored to your preference.
  • For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
