Description

This healthy version of ice cream uses ripe frozen bananas blended with almond milk and almond butter to create a creamy, dairy-free, and vegan dessert that satisfies your sweet cravings without the guilt.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas (frozen and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Optional Sweeteners

  • 12 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bananas: Place the frozen banana slices in a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend until the bananas become crumbly in texture.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: Add the almond milk, almond butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt to the blender with the crumbly bananas.
  3. Blend to creamy consistency: Blend the mixture again until smooth and creamy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides to ensure all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. Adjust sweetness: Taste the mixture and add 1–2 teaspoons of maple syrup or honey if you prefer a sweeter flavor. Blend briefly to combine.
  5. Serve or freeze: Serve immediately as a soft-serve ice cream or transfer to a container and freeze for 1–2 hours if you desire a firmer, scoopable texture.
  6. Enjoy: Scoop into bowls and enjoy your nutritious and delicious healthy ice cream.

Notes

  • Add cocoa powder to create a chocolate version of the ice cream.
  • Blend in berries or frozen mango for a fruity twist.
  • You can substitute almond butter with peanut butter if preferred.
