Description
Indulge in the decadent delight of Handmade Chocolate-Filled Rolled Crêpes, a classic French dessert that marries the rich flavors of chocolate and buttery crêpes. These elegant treats are perfect for a special breakfast or a luxurious dessert.
Ingredients
For the crêpes:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (plus more for the pan)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the filling:
- 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread or melted dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for silkier texture)
For garnish (optional):
- powdered sugar
- fresh berries
- whipped cream
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth. Let the batter rest for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Heat a nonstick skillet or crêpe pan over medium heat and lightly grease with butter. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan, swirling to coat the bottom evenly. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the edges lift slightly and the bottom is golden. Flip and cook the other side for about 30 seconds.
- Warm the chocolate hazelnut spread or melted chocolate (mixed with heavy cream if desired) until smooth. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of chocolate filling over each crêpe, then roll them up tightly.
- Dust with powdered sugar and top with fresh berries or whipped cream if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Crêpes can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a pan or microwave before filling.
- You can also fill them with white chocolate or add sliced bananas for a fun twist.
