Description

These ham and cheese sliders on sweet Hawaiian rolls are buttery, cheesy, and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for feeding a crowd or enjoying as a quick and satisfying meal. They’re loaded with layers of deli ham and melty Swiss cheese, then topped with a flavorful buttery glaze.

Ingredients

  • 12-pack Hawaiian sweet rolls

  • 3/4 lb sliced deli ham

  • 3/4 lb sliced Swiss cheese (or cheddar, if preferred)

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds

  • 1 tbsp minced onion (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Without separating the rolls, slice the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.

  • Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.

  • Layer all of the ham evenly over the bottom rolls, followed by the cheese slices.

  • Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese to close the sliders.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

  • Pour the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders.

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.

  • Let cool slightly, then cut and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can prep these ahead of time and refrigerate, then bake when ready.

  • Feel free to switch up the cheese—cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella all work great.

  • Add a layer of pickles or honey mustard for extra flavor.
